Photos Of Singer Waje At The Palace Of The Oba of Benin And Other Places In Benin

The singer visited her state of birth Benin City, Edo yesterday. And paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Oba, where she met with the Benin Monarch, Omo N'Oba,N'Edo Uku Akpolokplolo, Oba Erediauwa, CFR. 

Waje gave a wonderful birthday rendition to the Oba and she was later presented with special gifts (pictured below).

Waje who made a tour around the ministry of Information in Benin also visited and Vibes FM (pictured below), Rhythm FM and Independent Television/Radio.

The singer has since left Benin and promises to be back soon.

Edo State Government Secures Admission For Stowaway Boy In Top Secondary School

Edo State Government has secured admission in one of the state’s top secondary schools for 13-year-old Daniel Oikhena, who stowed away in the tyre compartment of an Arik Aircraft from Benin to Lagos on Saturday August 24, this year.
According to Governor Oshiomhole

“He is an intelligent young man with uncommon challenges, but one that has a vision. We had him examined by people who should know and the result confirmed that he is normal”.

Edo State Government Promises To Sponsor Stowaway Boy,Daniel Oikhena's Education Up To University Level

Edo State Government has expressed its readiness to ensure that the stowaway teenager, Daniel Oikhena, achieve his dreams by sponsoring the boy’s education up to university level.
Edo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Louise Odion, said that Governor Adams Oshiomhole was determined that ensure that Daniel gets the best education, regretting that the seeming crack between the mother and the father affected the upbringing of the boy.

Odion said: “Edo State Government is already taking steps to ensure that Daniel gets not just material but also psychological support to enable him achieve his God given potentials. As a doting parent himself, Governor Oshiomhole has followed the development closely. As a matter of fact, he personally engaged Daniel.

How 4 Policemen Were Killed Trying To Rescue Lawyer and Human Rights Activist, Mike Ozekhome In Edo State

The prominent human rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, was on his way to Benin on Friday evening when his Toyota Prado jeep was ambushed by kidnappers at the Ehor stretch of the Benin-Auchi motorway and he and his driver were subsequently taken away to an unknown destination.

Edo state Commissioner of Police, Foluso Adebanjo said, 

“Operatives of the command led by DPO Ehor Division responded swiftly to a distress call at about 3:30pm that unspecified number of armed men had blocked the Benin-Auchi road by Ehor axis. However, the hoodlums ambushed the patrol vehicle and opened fire on them, prompting an exchange of fire.

One teacher, Mrs. Augusta Odemwinge in Asologun Primary School, Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of the state could not read a sworn affidavit she purportedly tendered as part of her credentials...what a shame.
